The charging port is used to charge the iPhone 13 Pro and connect it to a computer. On the iPhone 13 Pro the main microphone sits on the same assembly and is replaced along with it.

When the charging port needs replacing

What installation involves

Before replacing it, take a look inside the port: often compacted dust is all that prevents contact – clean it carefully with a wooden or plastic stick. If that doesn’t help, the assembly is replaced; the device has to be opened for this.
