The battery powers the iPad 11 (2025) 10.9. Lithium-ion batteries lose capacity with every charge cycle – after a few years the battery life is noticeably shorter.
When the battery needs replacing
- The device runs flat much faster than it used to.
- It switches off unexpectedly even though charge is still shown – often in the cold or under load.
- The battery indicator jumps or the device only charges slowly.
- The battery is swollen and pushes up the display or back – in that case stop charging the device and replace the battery soon.
Service Pack: original part from Apple
The part comes from the official Apple spare parts programme and carries the manufacturer part number 661-51079 – the same component an authorised repair centre installs, not a copy. It fits the iPad 11 (2025) 10.9 with model numbers A3354 (WLAN) and A3355 (Mobilfunk).
What installation involves
The battery is glued into the housing. It is released using the pull tabs or a little isopropyl alcohol – never pry, bend or puncture it, as a damaged battery can catch fire. Take the old battery to a battery collection point.
